Tuesday Notes – More on Trading After Dark

By Don Miller

Wed 10:30AM ET Update: Due to bandwidth issues with Screencast, I’ve temporarily moved the second video to my educational server which should launch Windows Media Player when you click on it.  Keep in mind that shared viewing and server speed may be an issue when streaming, which I’ll keep an eye on.  Pardon our construction as we continue to beta test.

Here’s a glimpse into current behind-the-scenes efforts to produce the initial beta versions of Trading After Dark (TM).

Please watch the introductory YouTube clip first, then click on the TAD graphic below it to launch the viewer.

As always, comments are welcome as this moves from concept to reality.

Please excuse the redundant comments in the two videos, as they were recorded at two different times and I’ve been multi-tasking a bit.

Comments

  1. Day Trading Fool says:

Very, very, very cool. Looking forward to how this is going to turn out. Hat off!

  2. matt says:

    Don,

Will we be able to view in real-time during the trading day or will we be “only” allowed to see how you traded during the day when you post after the day session is over?

    • Don Miller says:

The idea would be to perhaps post it weekly such as weekends or 2x a week as time permits, after selecting a few relevant sequences from the week’s activity. As with the TV shows, live is out of the question.

  3. Jason says:

    Don,
Could you please use YouTube for video posting, which will make a life lot easy for your fans who also an Apple fan.
Thank you very much and looking forward to it.

  4. gratalis says:

Don, looks like a great start! Although my trading approach is quite different than yours (many ways to successfully peel an onion albeit all difficult when that onion is the market), I’m looking forward to gleaning what I can from your examples. Again, much thanks for sharing.

    Cheers

  5. Markus says:

    Great!
    Looking forward to see more,
    Markus

  6. Markus says:

Another thing – Don, do you assume a commission of $1.50 per round trip or per side?

    Thanks,
    Markus

  7. Richard says:

Nice. I had expected that the Screencast video would be unplayable on my computers (I use Ubuntu Linux), but after Monolight downloaded a few codecs it worked fine.

  8. Dave says:

    Don
Looks great! Very interested to finally be able to see you “at work”!
    thanks
    Dave

  9. Harry says:

Is anybody else unable to view the video Don posted on his server using media player? All I am getting is the audio portion. Thanks.

  10. luke says:

hi don, is the assumed commission (1.50) per contract and side or roundturn?
    cheers
    luke

  11. Scott says:

    Don,
This is cool. Looking forward to watching over your shoulder. Thanks for all that you do.
    -Scott

  12. B says:

Excellent Don, Well done and thanks . Transparency, thank you for that, now isn’t that a word people in Washington need to think about being.

Will be watching and supporting your blog .

    B

  13. Octavio says:

    Excellent project Don, congratulations !!

  14. Arnaud says:

    Don,

I see that you only have 5 depth levels on the ES contract for each side of the market. I wanted to tell you that you can actually have 10 levels with X TRADER by modifing the settings in the properties menu of the MD Trader.

  15. Wes says:

Great to see this, Don! I’ve wanted to look over your shoulder for quite a while. And whether or not other people trade how you do, it should still be interesting.

I like the new blog comment section, too. The old one required signing in with a Google email or other user ID like AIM, whereas this one you can use any email address.
