Monday Notes – Jellies Playing Poker
By
Continuing our recent poker analogies, this morning reaffirms that trading is largely about:
1. Anticipating the market bias … which we’ll call “the pre-flop” hole cards;
2. Confirming the bias with more market info … the “flop”;
3. Understanding what the other guy/gal is holding … the “read”; and
4. Sensing the rhythm of the session … the “table”.
As noted in this morning’s Jellie tank transcript, all four phases of the game were in play today.
Click on the pic below to enlarge the chat, with key bias comments and sequences highlighted.
Now if we could just replace the dogs in the pic with Jellies!

Don Sorry to bother you, Thank you for this mornings charts & commentary…Would you be able to tell us which moving averages are on which charts and if they are ema or sma? Thank you
The red are 15 SMA & blue are 20 EMA … sort a reminder that neither Simple or Exponential, nor 15 vs. 20, are “right” and they simply provide a visual zone reference.
Don Thanx Again,
You mention at the end about trading during earnings season. Do you generally have a rule that you tell your jellie team, to know the pre-market us equity earnings release times? Is this because they skew the price action of the ES and it is not wise to trade during equity earnings releases?
Often, yes.
What’s up with trading after dark?
Hi. As I’ve mentioned in recent posts, the TAD launch was delayed due to a major change in front end order entry system at this end which has taken higher priority. Stay tuned. Don
