This is a thread to share info on brokers and charting platforms.

I'll kick things off by sharing my infrastructure:

  Charts: Tradestation (Primary); ESignal (Backup)

Order Entry Platform: Trading Technologies (TT)

Broker: MF Global (Pat Lafferty: 800-554-6290)

I've also experimented in the past with other platforms including TradeMaven and NinjaTrader, and am currently considering using Ninja for a secondary account.

Hey Don and Jellies:

I am a relatively new futures trader.  I have a few questions that may help other Jellies and any observers.

To Don:  Last year I believe you were using Esignal as primary for charts and Tradestation as backup (in the Webinars)…any reason for the change back to TS as primary?

To Don and Jellies:  Am I making a mistake by relying on my broker charts as a backup to Esignal (my primary charts)? Anybody ever have problems doing this?

Thanks everybody!!

Rich -

I don't see much different between the two … and sometimes I just mix them up to "change the paint on the walls".  I think broker charts as a backup are fine, keeping in mind if they're your sole source, it can be dangerous to have both order execution and chart feeds with the same provider as you don't have the ongoing redundant reinforcement that the data is live and accurate.
